Barbara Leeds
Empty
For eleven months now
No cars
No employees
Just me
In the distance
Mount Hamilton
Shows off a new white hat
Along the side of the lot
A strip of roses
Radiates sweetness
At my feet
Feisty little tufts of grass
Poke up through cracks in the asphalt
Here
Alone in the parking lot
I shove my mask
Into a pocket
And breathe deep
