Breathing Room

May 2020

My old park has trees, hills, deer, and turkeys,
And hordes of hikers.
I like trees, hills, deer, and turkeys.
But hordes of hikers—since COVID moved in—
Pose a threat.

My new park has just water, sky, and birds.
The absence of trees and hills
Allows me to see
The few people who visit—
And avoid them.
